DO YOU LIKE SUSHI? I DO. SUSHI IN BELIZE CITY

I’ll be the first to admit—I’m no sushi expert. I’m not here to dissect the perfect roll or debate authenticity. For me, it’s simple: some sushi tastes good, and some doesn’t.

In Belize City, finding good sushi isn’t the easiest task. There are a handful of places offering it, but only a few manage to get it right. One of those places is Taka Kitchen.

A Casual Sushi Spot

Taka Kitchen doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. It’s a straightforward spot where you can enjoy sushi without all the fuss. When I walked in, the vibe was not as relaxed as I had hoped it would be but it was okay enough for me to sit, pop in my ear pods and and give sushi a try.

The Food

I started with a classic Salmon Cream Cheese Roll, just to ease into things. The flavors were balanced, and the ingredients tasted fresh. It wasn’t overcomplicated, and I appreciated that.

What stood out to me most were their Rainbow Cream Cheese Roll, and their Dragon Roll (not shown). They’re a little more creative but not over the top, which I think makes them approachable even if you’re new to sushi. The portions were satisfying, and each bite felt thoughtfully prepared.

Why I Recommend It

I think what makes Taka Kitchen worth visiting is how consistent it is. It’s one of those spots where you know you’re getting good food every time. The staff was kind and willing to offer suggestions, which I appreciated since I’m not always sure what to order.

If you’re someone who enjoys sushi or even just wants to try something new, Taka Kitchen is a great place to start. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable, and in a city where good sushi can be hard to find, that’s saying something.
